Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Desvantage ("Desvantage," "we," "us," or "our") governing your use of desvantage.com and the Desvantage calculator training service (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use and any charges.
2. The Service
Desvantage provides guided training for using the Desmos graphing calculator on the digital ACT, including instructional walkthroughs and practice questions. The Service is an independent educational product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Desmos Studio PBC, ACT Inc., or the College Board. Desmos is a trademark of Desmos Studio PBC; ACT is a registered trademark of ACT, Inc. Both are used only for identification.
3. Billing, renewal, and cancellation
Subscription. Access is sold as an annual subscription at the price shown at checkout (currently $299 per year). Your plan gives you access for one year and renews automatically at $299/year until you cancel.
Cancellation. You can cancel anytime in one click from Manage plan (or by emailing support@desvantage.com). When you cancel, your plan will not renew and you keep access until the end of the year you already paid for.
Refunds. We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee: request a refund within 7 days of your first purchase and we will refund it in full. Otherwise, except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide partial-period refunds.
Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe; by subscribing you also agree to Stripe's terms. You authorize us and Stripe to charge your payment method for the fees you incur.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to share, resell, or provide access to your account or our content to others; copy, scrape, or redistribute our materials; use the Service to cheat on or gain unauthorized access to any actual exam; or attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the Service. One account per student. We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms.
5. Intellectual property
The Service and its content are owned by Desvantage or our licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own test preparation.
6. No guarantee of results; disclaimers
We do not promise any particular exam score or admissions outcome; results depend on many factors including your own effort. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Desvantage will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $100.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Florida.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms; continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
